Welcome to 5 Foot Way’s website. We run supperclubs, pop-ups, and cater for private events around Bristol, Bath, Bruton and the surrounding areas.

Join us in celebrating the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival at our next supperclub, Flavours of China, is on 21 September at On the Brook in Bruton. Traditionally, this festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Lantern Festival is celebrated by Chinese people all over the world with good food, mooncakes and lanterns, to give thanks for a good harvest and admire the moon. In Malaysia, when I was little, we used to love the bright cellophane lanterns in the shapes of animals & mythical beasts, lit up with candles. We would play with sparklers, hot wax and matches with no regard for health & safety!

We have put together a lovely regional Chinese menu with dishes from Sichuan, Xinjiang, Northern China and Guangdong for this celebration. For bookings call On the Brook on 01749 813048 or e-mail info@onthebrook.co.uk.

We are also excited to be joining our friends at Malaysian Kitchen for the University of Bristol Malaysian Cultural Festival on 21 October at St Michael’s Parish Church Hall, Bristol. We’ll be making lovely Hokkien prawn mee, Johor laksa and other Malaysian snacks with our friends at Perisa.

The event runs from 10:00 – 16:00, and there will be dancing, games, craft stalls, food demonstrations and tons of yummy Malaysian food. Tickets are £3 (entry for children under 15 is free). All tickets (including for children) can be booked here.

If you’d like to be kept informed of future events and want to go on our mailing list, or if you need catering for an event and would like to have Malaysian and other South East Asian or East Asian grub to fill your guests’ bellies do contact us on hello@5footway.co.uk.
