5 FOOT WAY’S KOPI TIAM @ ON THE BROOK
This Friday 11 October, our special is something you rarely get in the UK and it’s my all-time favourite Malaysian breakfast. An assortment of vegetables and tofu filled with homemade fish paste, served with steamed rice noodles, chilli and hoisin sauces, with a bowl of clear anchovy broth on the side. £9 a portion, limited portions available. Dessert is a selection of Malaysian kuih (cakes) – baked aromatic cassava cake, and onde onde – delicious sweet potato and glutinous rice balls filled with liquid palm sugar syrup, coated with freshly grated coconut £3.50 a portion. This Friday 4 October, crispy Chinese roast belly pork is back with chilli, ginger and garlic sauce. Served with rice and Asian salad, this sold out in a couple of hours last time, so get your order in quick. Limited portions available for £9. This week’s dessert is refreshing chilled sago pudding with palm sugar syrup, and coconut milk for £3.50.

Don’t forget! If you bring your own container we will either take 30p off your meal or donate it to an environmental charity – it’s your choice.
Christmas bookings have started to come in. If you fancy something a little different, we have party menus available for buffets, sit down dinners or drinks parties. On the Brook is available as an event venue in the evenings, if you are looking for a lovely space to hold your event.
We are taking part again in this year’s Bristol MasFest on 12 October at St Michael’s Parish Hall, Park Lane, Bristol BS2 8BE, organised by Bristol University’s Malaysian Cultural Society. It is open all day from 09:00 – 16:00. Join us and other Malaysian food vendors for a fun day of tasty street food treats, and a programme of cultural performances and games.This event was immensely popular last year, so booking your tickets in advance is highly recommended!
